Heaps of Oranges!

Thread Starter

We were given a whole case of oranges recently, and we already had a bunch in the fridge! I love oranges, and they are, in fact, one of the only fruits I'm *not* allergic to, but there are only so many oranges a person can eat in a day! I often toss one or two into smoothies, sometimes put them in stir fries, and tonight juiced a bunch as a treat with dinner. Juicing them is definitely not on the list of things to do with the rest of them - we just have one of those manual juicers where you have to apply pressure and twist the fruit with one hand while holding the thing still with the other. It's yummy, but not worth the effort! :)

Does anyone have yummy recipes that call for oranges? Or, even "treat" type recipes? I don't think I'll have this many on hand ever again, so I feel like I should do something special.

Thanks

I like making citrus salad, mixing orange with grapefruit, lemon, lime, whatever.  Learn to supreme them - Here's a youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjOEGQ18F-A.  I can sit and eat a big bowl of them this way.

I do recall seeing a recipe for orange pie somewhere...  don't recall where.

I also bookmarked this a couple years ago when I had a similar problem: http://brandoesq.blogspot.com/2006/07/exoticorange.html

You can also check out Orangette: orangette.blogspot.com and Simply Recipes: simplyrecipes.com

Put "oranges" into the search bar and they both kick back a lot of ideas.
