10 month old & her index fingers

My 10 month old (today!) recently started putting both of her index fingers together. In the past few days it seems like she has become obsessed with this, doing it upwards of 20 times per hour. She looks at one hand and points her finger, looks at the other hand and points her finger, and then looks at me and puts the two fingertips together. Usually she makes a loud bark-like scream when she does it.

Is she just really excited that she can do something new? We havent seen anything like this so far. I have to admit, it is really funny to watch, but it seems like she doesnt want to do anything else. We are trying to teach her to clap, since she seems to be able to put her hands together really well.

my dd is 10 months old and some change, and has been doing this for a few weeks :) it is really cute. she 'points' [sticks her index finger on] a bunch of other stuff too, so i see it as experimenting with a new fun thing. it sounds to me like that's what your dd is doing!
