i am trying to get rid of the binki in my 5 yo. he is SPD and maaaaybe ADHD, he is also 'behind in maturity' (emotionbally and so on)

but the NEED is still there and he is not accepting chew tubes or chewy fidgets as he does not CHEW but suck.

currently the Binki is his ONLY self soothing 'tool' -- he is seeing a therpist and an OT both working with him, but no dice so far. he is emotionally behind, gifted, and SPD (nothing offical, but you know); possible ADHD (he is too young and behind in matrity to be sure).

He has the binki ONLY because he needed it from day onw -- I am a miliant Breast momma and would not have caved otherwise.

he still has it as he still NEEDS it -- but it is effecting his teeth and beyond that i need to move him on to a new skill / teach him more tools. he is starting to suck his thumb in quiet time (reading etc) if he doesn't have the binki. thoughts?
