PAL Mamas-When do you start shopping?

This is my 6th pg-4th babe with two super early losses. Why is it so hard to start getting things ready? I'm 28w and I had my last at 37w. I know that might not happen but I'm possibly in the single digits as far as a weekly countdown goes. I've been cleaning like crazy and decluttering to get ready for baby but I can't seem to make myself buy anything. I don't have anything from my last beyond the big equipment (carseat, etc). I need clothes etc but it seems so scary to buy little baby things. I told DH it's easy and fulfilling to clean out a closet but I'm too scared to buy a onsie. Any thoughts? Advice? Thanks for listening to my hormonal rambling lol...

I'm with you. I am 25 weeks and I haven't got one thing for the babe yet. I even know it's a boy and have a name, but buying a onsie is *difficult!*

I am scared that if I buy the wrong thing it might be a bad omen. I know it's utterly ridiculous, but I can't help feeling that way. I want the first thing I buy to be perfect. And as of yet, I haven't found anything suitable.

Not exactly shopping, but a couple people have given me some things--they are not in my house yet though. Tomorrow I have plans to go to a friend's and pick up some baby stuff from her, and I have to admit it is making me feel nervous/superstitious. She's pretty anxious to get it out of her house though so it's sort of now or never. Still, I feel a big mix of excitement and fear. (I'm 26 weeks)

Okay I've decided to start looking for the items I know people won't give us-nursing cover, diapers, slings, etc and I'm having fun with it. It is scary though!
