Waiting on new addition

I am so anxious to meet our new pup. We are getting a German Shepherd pup that I've been waiting on for over a year. I found the responsible breeder I've been looking for and it's took this long for her to breed the male to the female I wanted. The first possible due date was the 18 th so any day now. I personally am a boxer person we have two that are the best dogs I've ever seen or had they are just like our children they go everywhere with us se call them # 4 & 5 since we call the kids #'s so they don't hear their names. My husbands favorite dog growing up was his GS so I searched for a great breeder found a couple of good ones and settles on a lady that's only 8 miles from us ( that's great since we live in no where). I have kept in contact met her dogs and stuck back the money all the while he didn't really know because she wanted to wait a year before breeding the male that I wanted to be the sire. Once she bred him I took dh to meet all it's been a long wait.

She has sent ultrasound pics and pics of mommy as she progresses it's almost like it's us pregs again. Then once born we have to wait 8-10 weeks depending on pup. Oh well once born she has all the hip X-rays and things to guarantee hips and elbows. As long as all is good he's ours. I will send pics once I get them.

Congrats:)

I am a little surprised as I have never heard of xraying a baby.  Usually the results arent considered valid until the dog is two.  Both parents have been tested through OFA or the like though correct?  T

Yeah both parents are checked and I believe they call it certified. She goes on and X-rays just for her if there is anything that "looks off" she will hold on to the pup until it's old enough to know for sure. A couple of times she thru our vet has found homes for the dog before the two years with them knowing there might be an anomoly( sp) just because they are easier to place like that. I will attach a link to the website in just a minute so you can see the dog. The sire is Hoss the mother is Yahtzee

The link to the parents is if I do it right below

But after verifying as much as she can at the age she guarantees the pup

PennHIP is valid before the age of two.  As early as 16 weeks.  :)

Preliminary results for OFA can be done as early as 12 months.

I know you can do prelims, I  just meant i never heard of the guarantee being based on a pups (meaning 8 weeks or younger) xrays.  They are so wiggly and well puppy like that I cant imagine it being easy to get a good shot and I wouldnt want a pup that young put under.  Not that no one does it, just surprised me:)

As long as the parents are both done, that was my main concern:)

Yes both of the parents are tested. She even in her site shows the pedigree showing the ones in the lines that have been tested like the grandparents and so forth
