14.5 month old (molar teething)

my DD always nursed as much as a newborn until.. well, now!

it used to be 10-12 times, and now may be changing to 6-8. the amount of solids hasn't changed much, but i wonder if molar teething makes breastfeeding uncomfortable? i knew DD was going to have to nurse less sometime, but with her being my first child (and the first one amongst friends and family to BF) i am unfamiliar with how it's supposed to go beyond infancy.

DD has currently 16 teeth with the last four baby teeth coming out. when she does nurse it's really minimal since she seems to have some kind of discomfort. maybe it's ear pressure caused by the saliva? she isn't showing any other signs of a cold, or maybe it has nothing to do with breastfeeding at all (like, could her throat be hurting?).

what do you mamas think?

for a while i was wondering if she was ever going to lessen the frequency of nursing. now i am scared that she will come to a sudden halt! hehe, well however it happens, it will happen naturally i guess, but i was hoping her to stop gradually and slowly so i wouldn't experience any pain/pressure (my supply is still REALLY good).

well just in case there was anyone else with a similar problem, i think i may have found out the answer! i called a la leche league leader who said some babies get a weird pain/sensation while sucking when they are molar teething, which can turn off baby from feeding shortly after latching on. (DD would ask for the breast, then only suck for 30 seconds or so after having a sour look on her face). she told me to keep my supply up somehow until DD gets over the stage (if that is what the problem is).

i'll keep updating on this!
