Humana Family Bed vs. Bed rail (cross post)

I have been cosleeping with my one month old and need some advice.  Right now he's sleeping between my husband and me, but my husband and I really miss sleeping right next to each other.  I would like to be able to put baby in between me and the edge of the bed, but want to get some type of barrier so he doesn't fall off the bed.  We have a queen sized bed with a box spring and a tall bed frame.  Pushing the bed against the wall or taking the mattress off the frame are NOT options that will work in our situation.

I'm considering something like the Humanity Family Sleeper (http://www.humanityorganics.com/humanity-family-sleeper.html) or an attachable mesh toddler rail like this one (http://www.amazon.com/Products-Safe-Sleeper-Rail-Ultra/dp/B0002VAF3Y/ref=pd_sbs_ba_5).

Does anyone have experience with or opinions about the Humanity or other on-bed bolster style co sleepers?

What about attachable bed rails?  Does anyone know of a good brand or style of rail that would work with my style of bed?

I really appreciate any advice or suggestions.  I love sleeping with my son, and really want to find a set up that will work for all 3 of us in the long run.  Thanks!

~I also posted in the family bed forum, but haven't heard from anyone who has used either product, so I'm trying again :)

The Humanity one looks really nice, but my worry would be in a couple of months when the rolling and stuff starts. And then a couple of months later the crawling and climbing...

If it was me in that situation, I would think about sidecarring a crib.

I've tried one like the 2nd one and hated it!  To get it far enough down where DS1 slept (breast-level) it left a gap toward the top of the bed and, sure enough, that's where he fell out. DH hated it and took it off the bed.

I got a Snug Tuck Pillow instead ( http://www.snugtuckpillow.com/theproduct.html ), it goes on my side of our king size mattress and the babies always slept/sleep between me and the Snug Tuck.  I've used it for all 4 of my kids now and I've been happy with it, definitely been worth the money!  (And it was a lot less expensive than the Humanity bed.)

I roll up a towel and put it under the sheet so it makes a barrier.  DD2 is almost 5 months old and has been rolling since 2.5 months and no problem here.  It actually works with DD1 as well and she is 2.5 years old.  She rolls and moves and spins and everything while she is asleep and no falling has happened.

Thanks for all the input!  Unfortunately sidecarring a crib isn't an option in our tiny bedroom.  I think I'll end up getting one of the bolster barriers and hope that it works long enough to make the purchase worth it.

I have the humanity cosleeper and I really like it.  I used it from about 4 months to 20 or so months with DS1.  I really like how absorbent the pad is.  It soaks up breastmilk, spit up and leaky diapers pretty well.

We have the Humanity Family Bed and love it. We've even brought it with us on road trips to the ILs' house. It's super soft, washable, and there aren't any deep creases or cracks for a baby to roll into. It actually makes the bed a little bigger, because your weight keeps it on and you can put it right at the edge for more snuggle room. It's also great for DS's naps, because he tosses and turns and rolls around and I like knowing that he won't roll right off the bed in his sleep.

I think it's one of the best baby purchases we made, actually. Cosleeping would be much more stressful without it.
