Peanut butter oatmeal balls. Mix in suggestions?

Thread Starter

So I was craving something sweet earlier and did a throw together oatmeal peanut butter ball. Oddly enough, this is something I've never made before! Turns out my son LOVED them and gobbled a bunch right up. Let's see... I mixed the peanut butter and oats, of course, with some cinnamon, raisins, ground flax, and a little molasses since I didn't have any honey on hand. Rolled them in a little unsweetened cocoa powder and they were delish! yummy.gif

Since they were such a hit with my son, and I have a bit of a sweet tooth, I'm totally going to keep some on hand from now on!

I was thinking of some variations of mix ins to keep things interesting. All I can really think of is the honey, and maybe a peanut butter & jelly oatmeal ball. Maybe some chopped fruit like apples would be good too?

Any other suggestions? smile.gif

you could also add sunflower seeds, freshly milled flax seeds, cardamom powder.

I have only previously added milled flaxseeds.  My SIL would add evaporated powdered milk, ooney, PB, oats in equal quantities.

And you could vary with some dates, goji berries, candied ginger or pineapple, nutella.

Enjoy! :)
