maltodextrin in my stevia and *gums in my almond milk.

should i be worried about consuming these things? i am not even completely sure what they are.

me and my 2 youngest are on a dairy free diet. i am trying to go sugar free as well and then eliminate gluten. we seem to react to it. i have fibro and i am convinced these diets will help. so i am giving it a try to see. we already look and feel lots better.

i thought i would use stevia instead but i see that there is maltodextrin added in it. i am leery of it. it is artificial.

and then the almond milk my DDs like has all this stuff in it too. they like it and all but do they really need that stuff. i cant find any in the store that is just almonds and water. well once i did and now cant find it any more.

trying to change the way i have been eating for 34 years is sure hard and confusing. i have to learn how to cook a whole new way and to try foods i had never eaten before let alone prepare. sigh.

Maltodextrin is sugar. Try finding an organic brand of stevia and almond milk. They won't have those unwanted ingredients. You may have to look beyond your grocery store.

You could try the stevia drops (unflavored), which have glycerin & water as the only other ingredients.  Or dried stevia leaf - Mountain Rose Herbs (and I'm sure other places) sells dried stevia leaf without any additives.

As far as almond milk goes, you can make your own pretty easily (you can flavor with vanilla or other flavorings) if you want to avoid any additional ingredients.  Most all (that I've found) are fortified, and therefore do have some addt'l ingredients.
