Three.  Christopher (4), Katherine (2), & this new little one.

Married for 6 years, 7 in Sept.

Depends on if you go by conception date or LMP.  I choose the one with the later EDD so that means Oct 3rd.

5. Do you have any names picked out?
If it's a girl it will be Meredith Renee.  No IDEA for a boy, lol.  Me & hubs like diff names.

6. List 3 facts about yourself.

• I'm a HUGE birth & breastfeeding advocate. 
• I got married when I was 17 (no I wasn't pg, lol)
• I've slowly been transitioning to a more natural lifestyle, but still have a long ways to go.  Not sure where I will end up, just going with the flow for now- I make my own cleaners & detergent, use natural soaps, and avoid medication unless necessary while using natural remedies & herbs first.

7. Is this your last baby or do you want more?
My 2yo daughter was supposed to the last, oops!!  This one will for sure be the last (hopefully, lol). 

8. Craving anything yet?
Right now?  Nothing.  I just wanna puke!

9. What is your plan for delivery?
Homebirth VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean).  Hopefully in a birth tub, but I guess it will depend on what my instincts tell me. 

10. We know healthy, but hoping for a girl/boy/twins?
I honestly don't care.  I have a son and daughter so I'm completely neutral on this one.  I just hope it's not twins!!  :P

My eyes and his eyelashes.  My other kids have this combo and WOW!

12. What state do you live in?
Arkansas.

I like to help women with thier pregnancy/birth/breastfeeding.

Pretty much everyone.  I'm very open and can't keep a secret like this anyway.

I have a ten yo ds and an 8 yo dd from a previous relationship. This new babe will be my first with my life partner, James. <3

We are life partners, together for three years in May, fianceed to be married sometime in the near future. Planning on legal marriage before the babe comes, and community wedding Aug. 2012.

4. When are you "due?"  

Based on length of cycle, and last menstrual date--October 8, 2011.

We love talking about names, have been talking about it since we started TTC last March. Nothing is sticking, we haven't even decided on a family last name yet!

I am 30 yo, I LOVE cooking, babies, and sleep, I am a semi-radical homemaker .

7. Is this your last baby or do you want more?

Based on the sibling bickering we have going on here, I am seriously considering this to be our last, but reserve the right to change my mind. I also think just one more would leave us more financially available to travel, and in general live a richer life with just the expense of three kiddos.

8. Do you have any cravings yet?

Nope, only symptom I have thus far is sore boobies. Feeling GREAT otherwise!

9.  What is your plan for the birth?

Home waterbirth with a midwife. Previous births were hospital waterbirths with midwives.

10. We know healthy, but hoping for a girl/boy/twins?

No preference whatsoever!

My nurturing qualities, and his intellect.

12. What state do you live in?

Gardening, fermenting, canning, sewing, reading, a few online forums, cooking.

With this pg just one, during the 9 months of ttc, too many to count!

I've told my partner (of course) and my best friend. I'm not sure how long we will wait to tell the kids and others. We had a very early miscarriage in November and had told several people, we are waiting longer to share this time.  I'm hoping that being able to talk on this forum will help me get my chattiness out so I don't explode with excitement in keeping the "secret".

I am a scientist, 35yo, and I am still nursing DS (and am wondering whether/how that will go through a pregnancy.)

Last. I wasn't even 100% sure I wanted two (pregnancy is a lot of work for me due to my health) but I am cautiously excited now that it's probably going to happen.

No.

Have not decided yet. DS' birth was a train wreck and I think it was made worse by my own expectations. I intend to think really hard about what my priorities are this time.

I'm really tall but didn't play basketball (though I'm asked that ALL THE TIME), I like to ride motorcycle (or used to, not now that I'm pregnant), and I'm vegetarian

We've discussed only having one, but won't be getting my tubes tied or anything, just in case.

Today I feel like I can only eat crackers... not so much a craving, as an aversion to everything else.  Also, sweets have lost their appeal all together (and I have a major sweet tooth).

Definitely will be in a hospital, not sure much beyond that.  Would love to do a water birth, if that's an option.

No one knows, except me and DH.  Been undergoing testing to make sure it's not ectopic (increased risk).  Plan to tell family and close friends at 8 weeks (assuming all is well), and the more distant friends/general public at 12 weeks.

Approximately 10/10 - I didn't temp this month so I don't know exactly when I ovulated except that it was earlier than usual.  10/10 is based on LMP but it's probably about right.

There's a few possibilities, but nothing really jumps out.

I'm a student, back in college for another degree after a few years out with my first.  I wanted to have a baby while I'm in school because my schedule will be more flexible than if I had a job.  My husband works.  I'm 29, will be 30 in March.  This baby may have been conceived in Spain!     I think I ovulated on the day we flew home.  I have a really nice dog.  

7. Is this your last baby or do you want more?

We'll start with just one.  Maybe we'll have more if this one's good!

8. Do you have any cravings yet?

No... well, actually I've been craving cottage cheese with salsa for like a week, but probably that started before this baby thing developed so may not be pregnancy related. 

9.  What is your plan for the birth?

Hospital birth with a nurse midwife.  The nurse midwives here seem so so so great, I met with one a few months ago and she's got a really low C/S rate, low epi rate, doesn't cut, supports active positions, lets mama eat all she wants, all that good stuff, plus the benefits of being at a really sophisticated hospital (NICU etc).  So yeah.

Twins would blow my mind.  Probably not in a good way, although the cuteness potential is high with twins.  For sex I don't really have a preference.

7. Is this your last baby or do you want more? More! We've always talked about having a big family but we're also realistic about money - so I think 3 would be ideal :)

8. Do you have any cravings yet? Sleep. I crave sleep. Most food has lost it's flavor though :(

9.  What is your plan for the birth? Homebirth/Waterbirth! All natural, midwife - but I know there is a lot of research I'll need to do before I decide.

1. What is your first name? Surprise...Jen. I remember finding my name in a baby book last time and it read "Looking up your name, Jen? You have the most common name of expectant mothers today." Haha, guess this DDC is no exception :-)

2. How many kids do you have (including the new baby)? An 18 mth old son, Thatcher and this will be #2.

3. Are you married, single, divorced, in a relationship...? Married since 06/07/08

4. When are you "due?" according to LMP, late September, but estimated conception puts me at Oct. 5

5. Do you have any names picked out? No, but I love this part. We'll be starting the lists soon :-)

 I own a dog walking business that employs 6 people and I love to walk!

 I had a home water birth with my son and am a huge advocate of home birth, breastfeeding and baby-wearing.

 I have two dogs, two cats and 10 chickens and I love city life :-)

7. Is this your last baby or do you want more? We always say we'll take one baby at a time, but I think we'll still have one more after this one :-)

10. We know healthy, but hoping for a girl/boy/twins? We have 3 girls so I would like to see what a boy is like but I love girls so I really don't have a preference either way.

Yes please do ask any questions Kati! I will say that the water birth I had a home was probably the most amazing and transformative experience of my life. I love to talk about it :-)

Hi All, I really have enjoyed reading "meeting" everybody this way! Thanks Amy for getting this ball rolling.

And a shout out to Valerie: We're both in North Carolina!!  Okay, I'll take a stab at these questions...

1. What is your first name? Lisa

2. How many kids do you have (including the new baby)? I have one angel (MC last May) This will be our first baby!!

3. Are you married, single, divorced, in a relationship...?I am married - since 2006

4. When are you "due?" According to ovulation date: October 8th!  When the leaves start to turn colors!!!

5. Do you have any names picked out? We both have dad's named Richard, so if it is a boy, it will have the first name be Richard *but* he will then go by middle name....and we don't know that name yet.  (Henry, Bohnam, or Anders...?)  For a girl, we've always wanted Eleanor Neel, and she'll go by "Neel".  But I think by October we'll have other ideas too..... Starting lists....so fun!

6. List 3 facts about yourself. 1.Four years ago I became totally gluten-free...will be that way the rest of my life. (I'm a little nervous our baby could get this too???) 

2. We have a big energetic dog and a fat cat. 

3. I am in graduate school (art) and this is my thesis semester so I'm trying to concentrate on writing my thesis but it is too tempting to look at baby names on-line...

I am so impressed with how many of you have had home births and water births .  I'm so new to this, I don't know enough about my options yet.  But in general, I lean towards TOTALLY NATURAL in every way- and I have read books by Ina May Gaskin.  (dig it!)  In an ideal world, I would love to have a home birth...but I don't want to get my hopes up.  I need to start reading a lot about this stuff!  Any suggestions!

12. What state do you live in? Western North Carolina- the mountains are so beautiful!

13. Do you have any hobbies?  Since I'm currently in grad school, I haven't done much fun stuff in a couple years. I will graduate in May and I want to return to cooking more, knitting more, GARDENING this spring. I am a runner and a swimmer and I like eating popcorn! I also love traveling.

14. How many pregnancy tests have you taken so far, lol? Three in the kit.  All positive. This is happening!

15. Have you told anyone your pregnant or waiting? If waiting, details. I have told my best friend (in Minnesota) - and my acupuncturist (because I think she helped me get here).  I will tell the doctor on Monday....  I'm grateful I can share the news on line (like this) because I plan to wait until the 2nd trimester to share the news with family and then a week or two after that...with the world....
