Help me find my ideal nursing bra

Thread Starter

I just had my second child and my milk has definitely arrived. Before my first child, my breasts were pretty perky but that ship has sailed. So this time around I'm hoping to find bras that are a bit more supportive. I had settled into the C/D cup range so I'm not super well endowed but not particularly small either.

My dream bra would have flexible sizing (not a number/letter sizing since I don't know what that would be right now!) and is pretty supportive while still allowing for size fluctuations. And hopefully doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

I have a Bravado Body Silk bra from my first. I liked it but didn't really love it. I did try on the original Bravado bra before purchasing the Body Silk. I saw the Bliss bra on their website and am curious about that. I have also a Melinda G bra and really liked it the first time around but when I put it on the other day I didn't fit it as supportive as I would have liked. This is either due to the bra having been stretched out the first time around (and would be solved by purchasing another) or the fact that my boobs just aren't as perky this time around.

I live in a rather isolated area so I think I might be stuck ordering online without the opportunity to see any bras in person first.

Suggestions?

i have had trouble finding something supportive, comfortable, and nurse-in-able :) i have a 'basics by bravado' that's very comfortable, but not as supportive as i'd like. but all the supportive, more-like-real-bras ones are not comfortable at all for me. so i'm not much help :) but the bravado one is worth a try i think, i do like it, just not love. and they have it at target [i know what you mean about rural area--target's about all we got for 45 minutes!]. another tip: anything you buy at diapers.com is returnable up to a year after you buy it, and they have several nursing bras. so you could start there maybe. good luck! :)

eta: fyi, the only thing about the bravado basics is the band got stretched out pretty quick. it was more supportive at first. it is 'freesize', so you can't really say, oh i'll just buy a band size smaller than normal. just thought i'd warn to keep it in mind; maybe if you're just over into a size, you could try the smaller one. :)

This might not be super helpful, but I am pg with #2 and just ordered the Bliss.  I REALLY like it.  I nursed DD for 16 mos, and had a range of bras, but nothing blew me away.  In fact I mostly stuck with glamourmom tanks under regular shirts.  But with this one, I am going back to work around 13 weeks, so I need one that will make my breasts look fairly normal under work clothes. This one seems fabulous.  I'm going to wait until baby arrives to order more to see what I need size wise.
