We just bought a new house that has shag, or frieze, carpet throughout. Our old house had all hard floors. I read online that the vacuum we were planning to get (Dyson Animal) isn't recommended for frieze carpet. The manufacturers recommended vacuum with suction-only or beater bars without brushes or manual height adjustment. Any recommendations for specific vacuums?
