Want to start 'whole foods' cooking.... where to start

Hi all-

DH and I are currently doing the 17 day diet (me kind of modified since I am nursing). (only eating fruits, veggies, whole milk plain yogurt, eggs, chicken and fish and some rice and beans)  I am wondering how we can use this as a starting point to having mostly home cooked, whole foods in our house.  I think we may do ezikiel bread and tortillas and some such processed foods, but mostly I want to cook from scratch and have more nutritious foods in the house for all of us.

 

Is there a meal planning site/ recipe bank that I can find this stuff?

 

Also, any books that people just LOVE!

The Ezekiel sprouted corn tortillas are yummy, by the way! 

 

Feeding the Whole Family is a great book to have on hand, although it's a little grain heavy for my tastes

 

I've read Nourishing Traditions and do like it, though it is a bit overwhelming, and have also read Nina Planck's Real Food for Mother and Baby and liked it OK. I am a big fan of the whole "real food" movement, though I can't say I use those two books that often. It's more that I've learned from them and have my own sort of ideas about what's good to eat and not, and then I read blogs and filter the recipes through those ideas!
