Birthmother visit!

Thread Starter

Another wonderful visit with a birthmother to report joy.gif

I wanted to post because I have a very complicated with dd's birthmother.  My daughter was removed for neglect.  We have had an on again off again open adoption with lots of difficult behavior on the birthmother's part.

Despite all of this, it is so clear how much dd and her birthmother love each other.  And it is so clear that dd benefits from seeing her birthmother.

I'm glad it went well. I'm happy that it is beneficial for your daughter even though it's really hard for you.

Happy for you!

We are preparing for our fourth visit with my son's birth mom. He's 16 months. We've always met at restaurants or malls etc. We have a wonderful relationship with her, speak and email often and I send pics and videos every month or two.... and I trust her, and care about her deeply. Okay, I love her.

And she loves us. Anyway, I was thinking about having her come to the house and spend a day with us instead of someplace so impersonal. I feel like to do otherwise, at this point, signals a lack of trust or something. I could drive to her, but it's two hours plus and my mommy back is out of whack!! She is in our life, in my son's life forever and we are in her life...I feel like it's time to welcome her into my whole life.

Love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Glad to have this community to share with.
