what can i make out of flannel receiving blankets?

I was just given a TON of cotten/flannel receiving blankets and would like to make some stuff out of them. I have already made about 12 double sided wipes and it did'nt even make a dent in the amount of blankets I was given.
Can I use them to make inserts for my F/B?
Or any experience with making nursing bra inserts?
I'm due in May and this is my first day on maternity leave and I am BORED!!
Thanks...Angela

Happy Maternity Leave!
I would definitely make more wipes and you could try making nursing pads. Also, you could make flannel diapers if you felt so inclined (newborn Cuddlebuns can be made from flannel, as can PooPockets or Tiny PooPockets).
Hope this helps!

I made stuffers for my pocket dipes. They are also pretty cheap at like Good will and this is where all my flannel stuffers came from.

I use 4 layers (sometimes 5 or 6, depending upon the heaviness of the fabric), serge them into the doubler shape and voila! Instant, inexpensive stuffing.

If you don't have a serger you can do a really tight zigzag along the edges and it will keep them from freying.

My first day of bed rest with DS was TERRIBLE!!!! Couldn't get up and only knew ppl I worked with. Anyhoo....OT. I am using flannel for dipes, wipes and doublers. Finished my first dipe yesterday and am addicted...*sigh*
It will definitely give you something majorly constructive to do while on leave. I am gonna try to have at least 25 or so wipes, but I'll have a bf newborn and a 29 mth old in cds. Store bought wipes are killin my guy's bum and our wallet

Congrats...enjoy...and take it easy!

there's some sort of list like 100 things to do with a receiving blanket

i use them in the summer on my seat in the car so i dont burn my legs

my dd has used them bazillions of times to wrap and care for her babies and animals and whatever else she can find

so i guess my advice would be whatever you end up doing, keep some around to be "expendable" : )

My cousin made a quilt type blanket out of receiving blankets...

When Dd got to the age she didn't use them I tried to make a big blanket out of all of them, for her big girl bed....It's pretty much done, but I have yet to finish it.

I also made liners for diapers and wipes too....

Happy Mat leave!
