Bragg's Liquid Aminos

Quite simply, can a soy allergic person have these? I've seen them as a sub for soy sauce and I don't understand, but maybe it has to do with the prep? Am I right that we can't have them?

I think they're used as a sub for soy sauce because they're supposed to be "healthier" somehow, but they are made from soy, so I wouldn't use them. You could use coconut aminos, though.

I had no idea there were coconut aminos! Do you happen to know if they taste like soy sauce?

Well, I haven't used them a ton, but so far they seem similar but not the same. I've used them in coconut curries successfully, but I haven't tried them in anything where the flavor depends more heavily on them. I guess it seems to me like they're better than nothing, but I still miss my big ol' bottle of tamari. smile.gif
