ugghh!!!! dd is 8 and has started talking in baby language. i have no idea why it irritates me but it does.

she is joking here. when i have the patience i let it slide, but when we are on the run and she is speaking in a way i cant understand her it really irritates me and i tell her so. she stops or baby talks more clearly.

i never thought i'd ever say my child irritates me .... but sometimes she does. i was frustrated with her when she was young. never irritated.

Well, first off, I have to hand it to you not to allow your child to irritate you for eight years!  wink1.gif  My top contenders for irritating behavior are, as of late:

DS1 (6):  Decides to lick me from time to time.  Picks his nose.  Jumps on my back when I am bending down to help DS2 with his winter accessories.  Provokes his brother in a way that causes him to scream at the top of his lungs.

DS2 (3):  Screams at the top of his lungs when frustrated, especially by DS1 (see above).  Picks his nose.  Decides to tackle my legs as I am walking.  Gets up from the table after I've served him something, walks to the pantry and announces what else he'd like to eat.  (By the way:  this never works.  Does he still do it?  Yes.).  Jumps on top of his brother at random times.  Thinks it is hilarious to turn the volume of the TV to near-blaring.

I do still love them to pieces.

Oh, dear. :) I hear you. My 6 y.o. DD has started telling me how to do things and goes everywhere I go around the house commenting on how I could do this or that "better" or how she is working so hard helping me (when she's basically just following me around pretending to "help") and she's tired/sore, how I forgot to clean this thing well, how that other thing should not be put in that place. ARGH! After a couple of hours of running commentary I just want to scream. So far, I've been able to control myself and I do find it funny later, but when I'm in the middle of doing something and she's there talking and talking and talking. She does get irritating.

I remember doing that to annoy my parents when I was that age!

Ugggghhh DD will do that from time to time as well. Such a nasty sensation!

I think the most annoying thing DD (3 years) does at the moment is screwing around and wasting time when we're in a hurry.

2nd most annoying thing is intentionally hyping herself up at bedtime. She can be totally drowsy and exhausted, but the moment the light goes off she starts acting like she's had a double shot of espresso.

Both of my 7 year olds talk in baby language and it is quite irritating. But I have so many other battles with them (not brushing teeth unless under duress, etc) that I let it slide.

My 9 year old is a loud talker, drives me crazy. He has no concept of "inside voice"

And he has decided that it is a lot of fun to sneak up behind me and tickle me.  No one else, just me.  I can not stand being tickled!

My 5 yr old DS says "Are you trying to make it be the end of my life and me be dead?", when I won't give him a snack RIGHT away.

7yr old DD says "Disgusting" about everything and everyone in a very valleygirlish voice all day.
