PoetryLover! I must've just missed your announcement post...I had been thinking about you! Congratulations to you! Wow, what an experience...you are awesome! Rest up and enjoy your sweet new babe. I hope someone is waiting on you, bringing you yummy meals and snacks. love.gif

While I was making myself something to eat, I tackled the freezers...took inventory and reorganized both. I'm going to hang out in bed, work on my meal planning and watch a movie for my last quiet evening alone. Everyone comes home tomorrow!joy.gif

In the morning, I'm going to clean out the fridge, prep and store some csa veggies, have a beef stew waiting for the kids when they get home and then clean, since I got everything organized.

I just need to out myself.  I am totally going into ADD mode, with too much computer time.  Such a familiar place and it's a productivity killer!

charmcitymama, I've been there!

Remember...15 minutes at a time. Do you have a timer? Maybe 15 mins cleaning / 15 mins break?

I took my stewing beef cubes out to defrost last night, and they were still frozen solid this morning! So, change of plans for dinner...

Cleared out fridge, wiped it down, sliced peppers for the freezer and threw some hot peppers in some vinegar in the fridge - yum! Started dinner, and decided I am not cleaning today! Way too much for one day. I wanted to get everything done so I could just maintain, but then it hit me...this weekend is NOT my only chance to get things done because all of the kids go back to school tomorrow...so I have three hours in the morning to work on cleaning. Just so used to having them all with me, all of the time...

So...57 eggplants later, I am just getting to grating the zucchini for some bread / muffins. Then, on to preserving the squash and a quick clean up in the kitchen.

Not much else today (besides keeping my guys fed and the little dude's bum clean) other than sorting, sorting, and more sorting of TOO MUCH PAPER JUNK!! I worked on it for most of six hours and have only made a dent in it. Comes of keeping a beautiful minimalist house EXCEPT for the garage and the home office!! Those two spaces are much too easy to dump stuff in that you don't want guests to see!! Since we have a gorgeous lake view from our bedroom windows I tend to worry more that our room is clean and in order before we have guests than if the home office is clean. The office and the garage are my secret shame as a minimalist neat freak!!

But since we hope to get on the road full time in the next year or two we definitely do not need to be keeping a bunch of stuff that we never mess with...so it's time to get all the papers and other accumulated office junk in order!!

Bathrooms are clean, made bread, muffins and cookies for the week, cleaned up kitchen cupboards. We played a lot of games and relaxed together today as tomorrow is back to school and work for everyone.

Today did not go according to schedule...nonetheless, what I got done:

...dropped boys off at school

...brought the forgotten backpack and snack back to schoool for kid who forgot them

...took a picture of the elementary school for a kids homework assignment

...went into middle school for a meeting with principal

...drove home to take a picture of our house for the same assignment

...picked up all the boxes and bags of things I gathered this weekend to drop off at donation place

...dropped off my youngest at preschool

...dropped off the donation items

...went to cvs to print pictures for that project

...drove to csa to pick up share, but I was an hour and a half early

...picked up littlest from school

...had a playdate with our friends

...went back to farm for this weeks share

...was 5 minutes late picking up boys from school

...started dinner immediately

...realized I didn't have everything I needed, so ran back out to grocery store

...made beef stew and prepped meat for another nights dinner

...made dessert

...served dinner

...rested for half an hour - it was a busy day for my foot!

...worked for over an hour with my middle to finish his project (he's so happy how it turned out! :)

...straightened up as much as I could manage

Probably one of the busiest days I've had in a loooong time, but it was a good day! Despite being dreary and raining all. day. long.

Glad I had a few days at home to charge up!

Tomorrow will be busy, too...drop offs, pick ups, appointment in the middle. Thursday will be a nice stay at home / catch up day. Friday is a big consignment sale I've been looking forward to.

Good night, mommas! :)

What a difference a half hour to myself first thing in the morning makes!  I managed to sneak out of bed without waking my little guys, grabbed a shower (ALL ALONE!!!) and got some coffee started before they came to join me.  So much nicer than our usual routine of trying to fend off the starving wolves while I scramble to dress, feed them, and get the day started all at once. (Yes, wolves, my three year old has learned to howl... maybe the Yellowstone documentary was a bad idea.... )

I am expecting a police officer stopping by today, so I wanted to make sure everything was spic and span- I'm not worried or anything, and it's actually about GOOD news, but still, my perfectionism is at a peak. I even went so far as to put a dryer sheet on the back of a fan to make the house smell like mainstream cleaning stuff and not our vinegar/natural stuff.  It was good motivation to get the housework done early, so that's nice.

I've turned the afternoons over to helping my parents at their place, so it works out well to be a bit ahead anyway.

So far-

coffee made

beds made

laundry in

vacuuming done

toys all put away

kitchen tidied

surfaces dusted (eep- I'd left that too long!  YIKES!)

I need to tackle the table- I'm not sure WHAT is stuck on it, but it's going to take some doing to get it off.  I know it was clean last night, but two little boys certainly can make a mess~

Ugh, today did not get off to a good start. I did get out and get husband's asthma prescription and got the grocery shopping done...but that's about it!! About to get the kiddo down for a nap, but I don't get to take one today cause I really need to accomplish some stuff around the house. Even if all I manage to do is get the clean laundry put away, dishes washing in the dishwasher, beds made, and floors picked up I'll call it good, but I need to get those done at least. I kinda would like to also make some potato salad to go with the hotdogs tonight (instead of just serving chips) and to make some iced tea...but we'll see how far I get on the other stuff.

Hey texanromaniac. That's how my day was yesterday. I woke up feeling like crap and got nothing done until the evening. But that's ok---I now take care of self first and foremost. It got done later when I was feeling better.
