Sleepsack for a 6-10 month old?

Our family is registering for a few gifts for our new baby and I'd love some help deciding on a sleep sack.  We're going to do a sidecar sleep setup.  We live in a 4 season climate.  The baby will be born in April and I figure will be swaddled until May/June at which time she/he will just sleep naked or in light cotton clothing.  (we don't have AC)  Come winter next year, however, I was thinking a wool sleep sack would be great.

I know some sleep sacks say they are good for 2 years (Link) but I wonder if this is such a huge advantage in a 4 season climate and I worry that the baby will just SWIM in it at 6 months?  I also have heard less about this company (I like the carseat hole feature!).  I really think the Lana Care (Link) looks nice and I think it would gets us through the first winter.  Seems kind of expensive for 4 months of use, however.

I'd love to hear your experiences with wool sleep sacks, sleep sacks in general and opinions on what we should do.  I realize this may seem a bit overkill in the preparation department but I was hoping to get a few "splurge" type things for the baby...knowing a few family members are going to splurge anyway...may as well be something we really want for her/him.

Hi!  wave.gif  And congratulations on the new baby on his/her way!  I had a baby in late February last year and also live in a 4 climate region (in Michigan).  We used sleep sacks last year, then let him sleep in a onesie over the summer.  However, by the time winter rolled around again, he was already crawling, so we never used a sleep sack.  Even if he wore it just in bed, I found he loathed the restriction.  So instead we have done a lot of sleepers and then just fleecy blankets in addition to our normal blankets.  We don't side-car, though.  He just always wants to be beside me, so I've never urged him out.  He gets a lot of body heat from me and then has the blankets.  We have had no problem keeping him warm.

Just something to think about; if baby is crawling by then, a sleep sack will drive him/her crazy!

Hum...that's a good point.  I think I'm going to just pass on the sleeper.  It seems like such a nice thing to have - almost like a lovey type thing but if they're not in it all year I can't really see a crawling baby liking it either.  Thanks for the help!!
