8w PP - retained products of conception

I have been bleeding since DS was born.  Today the doc confirmed I had a fragment left over.  I'm scheduled for D&C Wed which is going to cost ~$2500 from my pocket. 

I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with this and if there is a cheaper alternative!

$2500 for a D&C seems OUTRAGEOUS.  I'm not sure where you are located, but are there other clinics in your area that perform them?  Have you called around to other clinics?  I hope that other mamas weigh in on this for you, but $2500 seems just... it seems like a lot.

I had a d&c in 2006 and it cost at least that much ( if not more).

I just had a iud put in and it would have been 1000. without insurance.  Seems like 2500 would be reasonable considering the level of care.  However, if you had a hospital birth, I would see if they could work something out since you likely already paid some amount
