and is it significant?

Buying a car seat soon.

Top slots on the CA are 17.5" and on the TF they are 17".  I would go with the CA just b/c of the 40lb RFing weight though, since the TF only goes to 35lbs.

I believe the CA has the higher height too, because of the headrest.  I definitely would pick it over the TF unless I had a tall skinny child who wouldn't need the 40lb rfing limit.

DD is tall and skinny, she is 31 lbs and 36-37 inches.

Does the complete air have the tallest RF shell out of all seats (besides Sunshine kids, we can't fit another one of those in our van).  I am worried that she will out grow all of the options soon.

We have DD1 in the Radian 85SL and she is about 1-2 inches from needing to be FF, so if we got another seat, I would want it to last a bit longer RF with DD1 and just put DD2 in the Radian 85.

We are getting the seat primarily for DD2, but if it can keep DD1 rear facing a bit longer, we would prefer that.

Just measured and weighed DD1

37 inches, 31.5 lbs and torso length of 21.5 inches (to the top of her head) 13.5 inches to the top of her shoulders.

We want RF with her as long as possible, but need a seat that can be at a 30 degree angle.

Looked through past posts and can't seem to track down an answer.

Yes, the CA has the tallest shell since it also allows you to use it until the child's head is even with the top of the shell (other seats require an inch of shell above the child's head).

My oldest is too tall for any other seat on the market (and is too heavy for the TF) but is still RF'ing in her Complete Air at 44" and 37lbs.

Even with the top of the adjustable headrest, not the shell.  And at least the base model of the CA (not the LX) is very easy to install at 30 degrees.
