Agh! My toddler just scribbled all over my expensive bag!

ust needed to vent.  This is the first nice handbag I've ever owned in my life.  I thought it was too expensive, but my husband said "you deserve it."  Last night I found it with ball point pen sribbled all over both sides.  !!!  Quite tastefully done, I might say, and I am proud of her fine motor skills, but agh!

I don't think pen comes out of honey colored Italian leather, even professionally.

Maybe the worst thing is, they have the same bag (new) on ebay for the same price I paid --around $250.  So I _could_ get another if I wanted it.  I loved this bag!  But I thing I should just get a cheap funky one for under $20 and suck it up until she's older.  Or else by the new bag and leave it in my closet until she's older.  Or, take a pen, and add "I love my toddler" to the scribbles and just wear it proudly.

I feel for you mama. I love handbags. I vote for purchasing the  bag from ebay and keep it out of her reach. Call customer service of the designer of the bag. They may be able to clean it for you either for free or for a small cost or tell you what's the best leather cleaner to use.

DD broke the zipper on my favorite handbag over a year ago and I took it straight to the store. They fixed it for a small fee although it took weeks to get it back. I was told if I tried having it fixed on my own it wouldn't fall under their lifetime warranty thing.

If it's a MK bag they are very easy to clean and withstand a lot.

ugh! same thing happened to me.....except that it was a leaky sharpie and i was the one who did it. sucks. i'd splurge for the new one for sanity's sake.

I'd try to get it cleaned first.  You'd be amazed what a professional cleaner can get out.  I had green sharpie on a pair of khakis that ended up looking like new after going to the dry cleaners.  If that doesn't work, I like the "I love my toddler" idea.

my friend got ink off her couch with rubbing alcohol.. you might try that on a spot to make sure it won't hurt it..
