BF after Lorazepam???

I am having an MRI tomorrow and was given a small dosage of Lorazepam to use as a sedative. It will only be one dosage taken about 7:30 in the morning. It is a class d drug. I am also supposed to be given the iv dye or whatever that contrasts for the test. I was told no bf'ing for 48 hours after this.

My dd is 2yo and has tons of food intolerances so she is still getting a lot of calories from bf'ing. I have a couple of ounces in the freezer and she can tolerate cows milks, but she still nurses at night so needless to say I'd like to get back to bf'ing asap.

Any thoughts on when it would be okay to start bf'ing again? One website with an lc said the lorazepam wasn't a big deal in small quantities. I am bookmarking Kellymoms stuff to read later today.

Oh, also just got put on an antibiotic too if that makes any difference.

Thanks.

If your child is almost 2, I would pump and dump during the day, but you should be ok by nighttime.  It depends on the abx.  I will only take abx that are safe while breastfeeding.

Thanks. That is what I ended up doing. I pumped a couple of times and didn't nurse her for 12 hours. She seems fine.
