oh no, a wedding!

We have an out of town family wedding to go to.  Sigh.  No one has said anything about no kids, so for now I'm expecting we're fine there.  I have a halter dress I'm going to have a tailor put a kind of modesty panel in (I'm uncomfortable showing my cleavage, especially now that I actually have it!).  So here are my questions:

1.  What does DS wear?  He'll be nearing 10 months or so at the time (it's in May).  I want him to look nice, but not be uncomfortable, ya know?  And I don't want something expensive because I'll probably get 2 outfits for when he spits up on the first one eyesroll.gif

2.  The rehearsal dinner is adults only, I'm guessing it's at a bar?  Do I just not go?  This is DPs family, so he would go for sure.  The only people who aren't going I wouldn't trust watching DS for that long alone.

3.  Can someone give me their opinion about this dress?  We picked it out for DSD who is 12.  She's going to wear it to a school dance also.  But then I started wondering, is it too white for a wedding?  I've personally never cared about 'the bride is the only one to wear white' and when I got married to my ex I encouraged MIL to wear a beautiful white dress she'd found.  But this isn't my wedding...

Thanks mamas!

What do you think of drop in daycares? Might there be one in the area of the wedding? If so, perhaps you could still make it to the rehersal dinner and send the 10 month old to the drop in daycare.

I like your dress. For your son, I suggest one of the shorts sets somewhere like Babies R Us will have in May. The run about $25 (Im not sure what you were thinking price wise, but they are made of linen and he will probably be able to wear them all summer.)

I would contact the people who invited you and ask what the dinner will be like. Sometimes "adults only" doesnt include a baby that you will still be holding and will likely fall asleep at the dinner. I think their main goal is to not have a bunch of loud kids running around in circles.

It sounds like it should be fun. I have a 10 month old right now, and its a great age for taking a baby to a family event. She is super interactive and chatty with everyone she meets.

Thanks mamas!  I'll look into the daycare thing, but it's at night, so ...  I'll ask about the adults only thing too.  The linen shorts thing sounds perfect.
