Motherease One size questions.

So I just had a baby shower and was givien several Motherease One Size diapers. They are the colored kind and look very cute but BIG. Do these really fit an 8 lb baby? HOw much do you love them? Or hate them?

I have quite an assortment of diapers now because I cannot commit to just one style. I have flats, prefolds, a few Fuzzibuns, BG One Size AIO, and NB kissaluvs. I only have 4 Thirsties covers and Im not real sure they will fit over a Motherease Diaper...

What covers work well for the Motherease?

Thanks!!

I think the ME One Size tend to be too big for XS/newborn covers.  If you have small Thirsties I'd give it a try though, I've heard the Blueberry OS covers work well, same with Gen-Y covers and of course the ME covers.

In some cases they do fit an 8 lb baby but they would be pretty bulky.  I found some pictures when I was pondering this myself:

Nope, I don't think they will fit a tiny baby well at all. My DD has skinny legs and therefore couldn't use them till she was about 20 pounds. I think a more average sized kid could start using them about 12 pounds though. I think that the ME covers fit best with these but could use bummis in a pinch.

I love these diapers and am planning on buying a few more (the bamboos are especially lovely). But they are extremely bulky on a newborn. DS started fitting them at about 12lbs, yeah. Now, at about 22-ish pounds, they fit him really nicely and it's my go-to fitted.

I didn't really like the MEOS dipe I tried. They are really wide through the middle. I'd think they'd definitely be too big on a newborn. They are still too wide through the middle for my liking on my 2 year old. They work but, not my fave and I don't think for a newbie at all. I'm giving away mine to a friend to try or for extra since I have a lot of dipes. I love thirsties diaper covers. They are a roomie cover but those MEOS should be too big for the x-small covers - maybe the smalls like the pp said.

I like my dream-eze fitteds and AIO's. They have been replaced with newer versions/styles under the grovia name. This link has the OS version of the AIO. Should be similar I think. http://www.thenaturalbabyco.com/product-list.php?cID=127

Doesn't look like the fitteds are available anymore sadly. But other fitteds have worked well for me too.

Also love contours. And fave "doublers" are hemp trifold inserts.

Just an update. My baby at about 3 weeks can wear the MEOS and I really love them. They wash and dry easy and are very absorbent. After I use up my prefolds i go to these. The fancy expensive AIO's are last to be used.

That's great! I really love ours - I'm about to buy a couple more - the bamboo is especially lovely.

They really do fit small infants- starting around the 8-ish pound mark.  They are BULKY, but most one-sized diapers are on a small newborn.  If you are looking for a trimmer fitted diaper, the ME Sandy's in XS fits teeny babies really well and is totally bomb-proof with an airflow cover.   Have never had a diaper survive a Jolly-Jumper blowout until I tried the Sandy's/Airflow combo.

Jolly Jumper! Haha.

Yeah Ive had a fuzzibun and BG leak. Prefolds, flats, and MEOS have yet to leak. I also think once my baby got over 8 lbs they are not as bulky as the BG elemental One size. Those fit weird.

That's good. I can't stand the width mainly. It is a nice diaper, just not the fit I prefer. If I had to choose the MEOS or prefolds, I'd probably go with the MEOS as I find fitteds more convenient. :)

Just prefer other dipes better personally. To each their own.
