I'll be divorced sometime in the next ten days

 I thought I would be relieved and like this huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders. Instead, I'm just a bit blah. When does the grandiose elation that I was expecting take place?

I didn't really have that either.  In fact, a friend of mine described what happened to me after the divorce as me being in crisis mode.

My therapist told me that I should be celebrating and dancing around my living room.  I did not have any desire to do that.    If anything, it was sad to me.

I get what you say.  I understand you.  You mourn the dreams you had.  I mourned, too.  Divorce is very final.  That can be hard to deal with.  I am only a little over a month out from mine and it is still a struggle.  You are strong, though, you can get through this.

*hugs*  I'm sorry hon.  Everyone is different and has their own process of emotions that is right for them.

I think when you've made peace and fully accepted the divorce, it will come.

I know I did a jig when I signed the decree for the final divorce notice to be entered.

i guess you're just in the 'blah' stage of processing - maybe that elation will come later?  like when you find out it's official.  i know i will be super happy for you at that moment!

i have ecstatic i'm free days, blah days, and some really low, maybe i made a mistake, maybe he really could change, maybe we could be an awesome happy loving family, kind of days.
