DD is 2.5 years old. She's an avid nurser and would nurse all day if I let her. I've stopped offering her opportunities to nurse but I rarely say no if we're home just hanging out. I no longer nurse her in public so she can and will go all day without nursing if we're out and about.
Â
Just this week we have started night-weaning DD. DH sleeps with her in our bed while I sleep in another room. The first night was very rough, but since then she has still woken several times each night but seems to settle fairly quickly once she's realized that there is no nursing available until the morning. Her daytime nursing has definitely ramped up since we started night weaning!! Â

My concern is her eating. She has always been a picky eater and trying to get her to eat more than a bite or two of something is like pulling teeth. Should I worry about this? I think she probably is nursing enough to get calories etc, (thoughts?) but shouldn't she be starting to show more interest in food?? And is there anything I can do to help her realize food is fun/good/yummy to eat??Â
Â
I make sure not to allow her to nurse anywhere near a time when she will be eating. But, for instance, at lunch she's probably aware that after lunch I'll be nursing her down for her nap so maybe she's holding out for that?
Â
Right now her weight is fine, she's on the small side but is much bigger than her older sister was at this age.  She will willingly eat anything sweet and/or junk-foodish (we don't keep that stuff around, but if she sees junk food she makes a bee-line for it.)

Anyone have any thoughts? Advice? BTDT? Should I worry or will this all even out in the end on its own?
