Dunno why you'd get flames over your detergent choices. But some people have strong opinions, I guess.. LOL ;) Lotsa ladies highly rec charlie's. I wish it woulda worked for us as I had to order it and still, 3 years later have it in my laundry room. LOL
OPEN! It totally didnt make sense to me but it smelled so much less when I had an open dry bag hanging in a well ventilated area. At first I had it in the bathroom, but the door would get closed off and it would smell. Then I put it in the mudroom and voila! No smell.
They didnt have these when DD was a baby, or if they did, I didnt see them
I posted a link earlier with a video of loading the normal wipes warmer so that you could pull out one wipe at a time. I wet the wipe right before the diaper change because it was just easiest for me. I didnt use any solution. I used a thermal container Id fill in the morning and before bed in the beginning so the water would be warmish in the beginning but just didnt have the dedication and babe didnt seem to mind room temp wipes. That being said, we have radiant heating, so I'd put it on the floor and it absorbed some level of radiant heat. I do have a friend that would put solution in one of those empty candle wax scent jars(the ones with no wick) and put it in the warmer and then it would be warm for when she needed to use it.
Well, I know there is some controversy about Charlie's for diapers and some people are adamant about NOT using it for that reason. I like an open pail too. Our bathroom door is open almost all the time and that is where the diaper pail is now. Although my old pail was recommissioned as the recycling bin. I'm trying DS in cloth again, to see how I can stand it. I just felt bad about making all these diapers for the baby and having him in sposies. This was our first full day back and it's been ok. So far I've not puked. :)
Oh, on the subject of wipes - DS also had a bad reaction to Kissaluvs, I tried several different ways of preparing it and each time he got a terrible blistery rash. I just use plain ole water now. I had used some cheap walmart wash clothes but they didn't age well, they became so coarse. I wouldn't want to use them on my privates, that's for sure. So I serged up some new wipes, some flannel/flannel, some flannel/terrycloth.
