Not sure if my daughter has issues or just a phase

Ok, I'm not this is the right forum but sure you've all seen similar posts but I need help and advice. My daughter has a series on quirky behaviors and I'm not sure what to chalk up to a phase or sensory issues etc. Sometimes these occur in all in the same day or very sporadically. She complains she feels like she has to pee but can't, she complains she can't get her self wiped well enough (it feels wet) and wants to use tons of toilet paper and yesterday the new one was wanting to wash her hands alot, they felt sticky, and wanted me to do it for her. She gets' really frustrated and starts to fall apart and I try to calm her and get through it. What's going on? Help, I'm kind of beside myself some days. The other thing she exhibits since she was 9 months is this fist/face tensing thing when she looking at or concentrating on something, a definite tic I guess. Otherwise she's very normal, smart, plays well with others. A bit defiant and doesn't want to listen but I definitely think that's the age. Thanks in advance for reading the rambling.

She may have some tactile defensiveness - a sensory processing issue. It's not major and all of us have some kind of sensory things that bug us. Noise sensitivity, not liking the way tags rub our necks, not liking certain textures of foods much, etc. I'm not sure if you are wanting to talk to your family physician about it or not. Maybe it's something she'll outgrow. See if you can look at positive behavior strategies that will help her cope, like singing a hand washing song so she knows the routine, reasurance, using wipes to keep her hands clean between washings, etc.

Does she have any trouble with balance, fine motor work like drawing, bead stringing, buttons, zippers, etc? Does she like to swing, to spin, or does she hand flap or have any ritualistic gestures?

Talk to your doctor if you have any worriees. It may just be where she is right now.

Thank you so much for your input. It makes me feel better. We've always sort of thought she had sensory issues, it kind of runs in the family a bit with the men, tags, scratchiness. Otherwise no motor skill issues. She does have a tic (did I mention) where she tenses her fists and scrunches her face when concentrating on something or excited but she has done this since 9 months and I've researched to death but have just finally realized it is what it is. She may grow out of she may not.
