I just 'found' this and am wondering if anyone here uses it and what your thoughts are?  Also does it compare to Hearts of Dakato or winter Promise or anything?

We tried it but my daughter found it deadly dull.  She said it could even make good books boring. :-)  I do know many people who like it, just not our style I guess!

From my perspective, it was easy for grade level listed.  The questions seemed fairly superficial and not particularly thought provoking.

We tried LLATL briefly last year. It was a bust here too.  We have also used Heart of Dakota.  I can honestly say out of all the boxed type curriculums out there, I enjoyed this quite well.  A couple of the books were snoozers in the level we used, but I absolutely loved the lay-out and ease of the program and teacher manual.  Winter Promise gets mixed reviews (depending which package you purchase).  Their customer service gets terrible reviews fwiw.  If you could find it used though, I think it would be a good buy perhaps, as the resale would probably be good.

ETA - be sure to check homeschoolreviews.com too.
