vitamin c for the bath

I was reading about those vitamin c shower filters and I was wondering if there was any reason that I shouldn't just throw a couple of vitamin c tablets into the bath water to neutralize the chlorine.... any ideas?

I imagine you'd want to use sodium ascorbate over ascorbic acid. The reaction with the former yields salt, the latter hydrochloric acid. You'd probably also want to have it in solution to start with.

that's interesting because the water filters that use it say that they specifically contain ascorbic acid....
