Infant Chiropractor to treat breast favoritism?

Feeding my two-month son has been a challenge! I am trying to EBF, although we've had lots of bumps in the road. Reflux, nursing strikes, etc. My biggest issue is him refusing the right breast - screaming when I even lay him on that side. We had our 2 month check up last night and the doc mentioned his head is slightly misshapen (seriously?! ONE more thing to worry about?!). I am wondering if all these issues are somehow connected... I had an emergency c-section after his head got stuck on my pelvis. Could his spine be out of alignment? Should I consider seeing a chiropractor? And does anyone have any experience dealing with this?

Chiropractor is one option, definitely look for one who is trained in working w/ infants.  Also consider a cranial-sacral therapist and/or physical therapist, occupational therapist.  Your health care plan might cover some of these options, and your ped might be able to give you a referral.  Also your local LLL or an IBCLC might be able to give you referrals.

One thing to try in the meantime.  Instead of changing his position when trying to latch onto the right breast (putting him in a cradle hold for example), get him nursing on the left, then shift his body keeping the same alignment to offer the right side.  So if you're nursing on the left in a cradle hold, he'd probably end up on the right in a football hold.  If it's discomfort with positioning, that might help.

Seeing a chiro would do wonders. And a cranial-sacral therapist too would be greatly beneficial. Within 1-3 visits, most babies nurse effectively and on both sides with no problem. Totally worth trying!
