My pinecones are actually happening.  I only need oh... 25 or so.  I can get 2 done an evening while watching TV.  I need to mail 10 out by Thanksgiving for an online swap.

Trying to plan out my day so that I can get another present finished today.I have the materials for a hooded scarf and some mittens for my mom.So we'll see....

Sitting here staring at 7 quilted advent calendars. Now I need to get off my butt and mail out a couple and wrap the rest. This is a gift best given by Dec. 1st.

Somehow I tore through them, but going to the post office is never a big motivator for me. Actually it's a huge DEmotivator. So I just keep staring at them. They are pretty. And I am excited about gifting them. :)

I will be giving a one out on Tday, which will be fun. Need some large boxes.

I'm working on collecting glass containers from Goodwill for terrariums. The budget is tight this year, but we can afford little gifts for our immediate family. I think my nieces will get smaller terrariums, and the ladies big terrariums. We picked up some sea glass and art glass pieces at Hobby Lobby. You get a good amount for under $2. We also picked up some dried moss for decoration. I just need the substrate, charcoal, and plants after we get a few more containers.

For the kids, it'll probably be some sort of moss to keep it simple and inexpensive. The containers we're collecting for them are smallish, so moss would fit well. For the adults, I'll have to look at the small plants that the nursery has right now. Maybe ivy, African violet, or begonia along with moss. If I can get a small orchid or tillandasia for a good price, that's an option as well.

I'm actually wondering if some guys might like them? I don't know what to do for my dad. I was thinking of making one for him, but I don't know. He's got a green thumb, and what decorations he has are pretty plain. He hasn't even hung up the portraits I ordered for him last year, so more of my photography probably won't be the answer. I'm too tired to actually sew something, and normally I would just get him a new pair of slippers and something else, like a shirt or something for cooking.

Btw - these are super cute in clear glass ornaments, as well. They'd make a cute gift for friends, or could even work as a gift tag of sorts. Michael's usually has them on sale now, and you can get their coupons for 40% off.

EIGHT tree ornaments have been mailed out...2 more to go then something will be complete... of course there are more ornaments to make but a 'project' is done (almost)

Ok,my yearly rant about my husband...

I am all out of ideas!UHG!!!

We've been giving each other gifts for more than 20 years.

He is the most particular person in the world!

I really want to make him something he would really like.

He likes two things.Playing music and food.

In the past I made him a cozy for his double bass and a carrying case for his bow.

I can't imagine what sort of food/cooking present that I could make him(he does the cooking in our house).

Last year I made him a cosmetic case(or whatever it's called for men.HA!)because he has been doing a lot of touring.He likes to travel light so I can't think of any other gift that would go along with him being on tour.

I considered making him a strap for his bass guitar but I think when you use it as much as he does it's sort of a particular thing and since he is the most particular person in the world...

So where are you getting inspiration for the men in your lives????????

Okay, so I finally took a few pictures of the advent calendars. There are only 5 of the 7. The numbers on the ornament pouches don't show up so great in the pictures, but you can see them fine in person, (on all but one which I will be modifying soon). Also, I don't have any ornaments hung to show you. Hey, I at least took some pictures finally.  So  here ya go.

My husband? I asked him and he said he needs socks and underwear. Guess what he's getting? He's one of those that will wear them until I throw them away, even when things aren't tight. I started an "ugly" quilt from old denim and flannel that my mom used to sew shirts for my dad years ago. The flannel is pretty ugly, but it is on the inside and is super comfy. It's a raggie quilt, and would be easy to finish...but I don't see myself finishing it before Christmas because sewing makes my back spasm. Maybe HE needs to make me a tall sewing table so I don't hunch at all. I foresee underwear and socks on my Amazon Prime account.

Ooooo.This reminds me,I did consider making him some boxers.Maybe I will revisit that idea.

Hmmm?Well,he doesn't really use picks and his bass bag has a pocket for the cords(or when he's touring I think the roadie takes care of all the cords?) but maybe an at home storage bag.Although now that his equipment is shipped places before the band travels he might like one to keep with him?Hmmmm?I will think on this(or try to quiz him on his equipment storage needs.HA!).Thank you!
