Handmade Holidays 2011!!! - Page 16

Crashing this thread (which I have stalked religiously, you ladies are delightfully inspirational!) to ask if anyone has any ideas/sites/templates for cute homemade gift tags? I'm making some food items for xmas this year and want to be able to customize some cute tags with more than just a "To" and "From" field, but am having a bit of trouble finding something suitable.

I do have Photoshop so I can use .psd templates, just haven't found any pre-made tags big enough to print cooking/serving instructions on! =)

I just found these wood type printables on Pinterest yesterday. They're free, and she's designed a whole gift wrapping set, including food gift labels and recipe cards.

Thanks, ladies! Checking these out now. =)

So I was ordering prints from Wallgreens to make a collage  and realized I could actually make the collage on line and have the whole thing printed as one picture!Who knew?Ok,everyone but me probably.HA!HA!So excited that all I have to do now is pick it up and decorate a frame!

How is everyone doing?

I decided to make a bunch of t-shirts for my husband.Off to get them in the wash so I can start to decorate them...

rere- I did a collage online through Walmart. It was an 8x10 for like 2.50. Figured it was easier (and cheaper) to do it that way.

Its bright and sunny outside today.. I actually had to double check the calender because it doesn't look like December here. Its even in the 80s, we were debating going to a water park today since it hasn't been cold enough for them to close. I need some Christmas weather! It might motivate me to work on gifts!

How do you all deal with wrapping gifts? Part of me wants just to get it done but the other part remembers spending Christmas eve night helping my mom wrap gifts (well  other than ours, when it was turn to wrap ours we went out to the living room with Dad to wrap Mom's gifts). I use to LOVE that, spending time as a family, drinking hot cocoa, listening to music and wrapping gifts. We always talk about what we got who and how we thought they would use it.. I would love to do that for my girls but with three of them and no other adult it seems a little daunting.

Anyone want to kick me on the butt and make me work on something? I have zero motivation to do anything.. well other than take a nap. sleepytime.gif

Oki,

Uhg.I had no motivation either yesterday.

Wrapping with 3 small kids sounds hard.Maybe that's a tradition to start when they are old enough to actually help wrap.I usually just wrap a little at a time but reading your description of what your family did made me think twice about it.It sounded so sweet.

I can't wait to go pick up our collage. My daughter and I had a good time putting it together.I hope it comes out nice.

My husband got home last night and my daughter is currently trying to talk him into going to get a tree so I may not get anything made today.Oh well.

Okimom- you and me both. I'm doing nothing. The calendars and the orange wreath seem to be the end all of Xmas crafting for me this year. Just no motivation. Which kinda bums me out b/c I had about 10 diff. ornaments I was super excited to make this year. I've really gotten into that the past few years. But nope, don't even care to bust out the paint or anything else required.

Guess that isn't helping is it? shrug.gif

HA!Yeah,I wasn't much help either,was I?

I've got zero motivation as well, but this week is it for me. I found out yesterday my job needs me to come back from maternity leave a week early... so it's now or never this week for the Christmas crafting. It must be done by Sunday! I can do it, but I'll have to work on stuff every single day...

Ok,I got the 2 yr old to sleep without falling asleep myself. That means I should really go make something. But getting back under the warm covers with my sweet nephew sounds really good. No!Must make presents...

Sewed a design onto one t-shirt.Another is drying(did a freezer paper stencil). One still needs to get washed and one needs to go back to the store(some how I picked up a lady one).

Ok, So I sat down again with a list of everything I need to get done between now and the end of January (yea, I went that far.. I have a birthday in Jan and one in Feb to make things for..) then seperated it into days so now I know what I need to get done and when it needs to get done. I made sure it was reasonable as well (not going to be able to knit a sweater in a day, just doesn't happen unless you are a knitting speedster). Im better at getting things done if I have a list telling me what to do, if I don't then I flounder around doing nothing.. Ok, sometimes with a list I flounder around doing nothing whistling.gif

So tomorrow I need to:

finish cutting out the quillow tops I started today (already have the fabric preped and one almost all the way cut out)

sew the tops

finish cutting out the quillow bottoms and sew the bottoms

finish sweater front

sew front to back of sweater.. remember why i hate seaming when Im knitting 2whistle.gif

Taggie Monster

Taggie giraffe

I preped all the fabric for the quillows today, Ive realized that an hour of prep time saves several hours of project time. I lose track of where I am if I have to stop to prep stuff and then it takes a while to figure out what I was doing. I also put together two coloring books for the kids and pulled out the pillowcase I started for SIL a while ago that I haven't finished yet.

I figure for wrapping Ill do all their stuff ahead of time and have them help with the gifts for inlaws/family. My oldest loves to help wrap and my middle is actually pretty good about not getting into trouble. Ill just have to do it during nap time so the baby doesn't "help".

Oh and you all aren't any help when it comes to motivation.. Although its comforting in a way to know that its not only me that has motivation problems.

Waiting for things to dry...

Anyone else working on stuff?

Just a baby. love.gif

But keep on rockin everyone. I'm living vicariously through you!

Just got done sewing the taggie giraffe and taggie monster. When I get a chance Ill upload pictures. The monster is really cute but Im not so sure about the giraffe. DS likes it though, he took off with it when I put it down for a second and I had to distract him to get it back. Silly boy..

Now Im going to go work on the sweater front.
