Whole house water filtration

Has anyone found a whole house water filtration system that is worth the money? I am researching Vitalasus. Anyone have any experience with them?

Thanks!

My family lives in a townhome. My dad lives in a different townhome in our same development, but a different phase. We both want some type of filter for our hot water because of all the calcium deposits in our water. Calcium only gets leached out at high temps, so that's why we only need it on the hot water. Our townhomes are set up where 4-8 family units share incoming water. (HOA dues pay for water; not individual homeowner bills.) We cannot put a whole house filter on from the city source...only at the point the water lines enter our unit and the only accessible point is the hot water heater closet.

My dad says (he was in the construction biz for most of his working life) we can put in basic filters for about $40. He is usually correct, but off on the costs by 10-20%. I do my own research based on my own criteria and can usually get a better product for less, but alas.... I have not done the research on this one, yet. We'll be doing it this calendar year sometime...

We tried out a shower filter. I haven't noticed a difference at all. My skin is the most sensitive in my family, but DD's hair and skin are the most dry and itchy. We're moving that shower head (has filter in the handle) to her bathroom when we find some parts for our old one. DH & I got spoiled by the large spray head size of our old one and the new filter shower head just cannot compare. It is nice, though, and was a very reasonable price. I got it on amazon.
