I have a snug ride 35 the other day I had both girls with me and had to run some papers by our reltors office down town. On the way back I agreed to buy my oldest and icecream cone and that she she could eat it in the car going home. Well in the car my 10 month old was whinning cause she wanted some so I gave my oldest a plastic spon I had and told her jsut put a little on the spoon and let her have that... Baby seemed happy soe I drove home.. shy.gif

Get s\home and see baby.... yea lets say she get a few more spoons fulls.. MY oldest was like what she wanted more!

So long story but now  I have a car seat COVERED in vanillia icecream!  How do I go about cleaning this? Can I remove the straps? can the straps me machine washed?

The straps can not be machine washed. You can remove them and clean with a toothbrush.

Yep, be very gentle with the straps.  Warm water & a bit of mild soap (baby shampoo or similar).  Cover can go in the washer no problem.  Just use the gentlest cycle you have & hang to dry.

Thanks okay I jsut used a  wash cloth cloth wet with warm water and a bit of ivory hand soap to clean the shell and the straps and put the cover through the machine on gentle cycle and its now drying on the line (been there for a while) everything came clean and it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought the job might be.

I've used Dr Bronners on my carseat straps.  My friend almost ruined hers with 409.  Who wants that touching their baby's skin?!?

Yea I had no intention of using something harsh I knew that much. I'd be afraid of it breaking down the fibers more than contact with baby though.  Luckily the job turned out a lot easier than I thought it would.

If she used 409 on them, she actually DID ruin them.  Harsh cleaners damage the straps, making them unsafe in a crash.  They should be replaced!
