Newborn stash- enough?

As we move closer and closer to baby's arrival I am hoping that we'll have enough newborn/small diapers to get us through until she fits in one-sizes. I'm thinking this is for birth-3 months. What do you think, what would you add?

LOTS of XS thirsties wraps (8?)

2 Thirsties Duo wraps

12 infant prefolds

6 small esbaby (mamamade) fitteds w/ doublers (not sure if these will fit right at birth)

10 Kissa 0s

2 small Fuzzibunz

newborn sposies for the first few days

Does that seem like enough? Do I need doublers for the kissas? Anything else you can recommend? I will be home for the first 2 months, but I'd rather not be doing laundry every day. Any help at all would be GREAT!

I think you have enough and that you could probably start the one size dipes when your little one is around 2 mo. vs. 3 (if you wanted).  It wouldn't hurt to have another dozen of prefolds or flats on hand in case the other diapers don't work out for you.

Congratulations and enjoy!

I'm just starting out too and would like to listen in on this!  To me, I would feel safe with a few more for your stash... only because I hear everyone saying "Buy enough to last you a few days and you can do laundry every few days."  But what about the diapers that you need to air dry... doesn't that mean you then have to have enough diapers to last you through the air drying phase which I assume could take another 2 days?  Plus newborns poo so much and I'd rather have a few extra "just to make sure".  I think I'm overly paranoid though, and I have been tempted to drop a lot more dough on more diapers that probably won't even fit for very long! :(  I want to hear the experts too! :)

Oops, by the way I forgot to add that it sounds like you have plenty of covers! :D  And to clarify, I hear people saying that AIOs etc will last longer air drying.  So like the PP said, maybe another dozen prefolds or something would be good (or even a few more since you can get them pretty cheap)... something that you can launder a bunch quickly when necessary!

I would say that whatever combination of diapers you have you should have at least 2 dozen, and 3 dozen would be ideal.  You go through so many at first!  As for covers, we started out with 5 which wasn't enough esp with the BM poop leaking into the covers all the time.  A friend lent us 5 more and that was more than enough.  I would say 8-10 covers would work.  Good luck!

Thanks, ladies! We went to a new local diaper shop (dangerous!!!) yesterday and picked up 12 more prefolds and 6 newborn Flip inserts. I think we should be good to go at first, and if I need to I can always get more prefolds later.

Your plan is a lot like mine! My budget and inventorying is to get us to around 4 months old (and one size covers!) and includes Thirsties and prefolds. Sounds like you've got a sufficient amount of covers and over a days worth of fitteds to back up your trim prefold stash. I only say "trim" because I remember how much newborns poop…I think you'll have enough to get you through two days, though, and I guess we'll both learn by three months what we need more or less of!
