Bed Sharing with a squirmy, grunting, heat seeking missile!

I really love bed sharing with DS, who is 6 mos old.  I love having him right there when he wakes to nurse or even if he just needs to be cuddled back to sleep.  I love waking up with him right next to me.  It's great.

However, I really, really need some sleep!!  The last few nights he's started really thrashing around in his sleep and he's becoming an even worse bed hog.  He isn't waking up more often, but I sure am!  I REALLY want to keep him in bed with us, but I wonder if I'll sleep better if he's not in our bed.  I'm worried he won't sleep if he's not in our bed.  Any advice?  Would he be too big (at 6 mos, but 95% for length) for an arms reach co-sleeper?  Is it likely that this is just due to teething or some other developmental thing?  Any other tips/tricks to keep him in our bed but for me to get some sleep?

Thanks!!

i had wigglers too! i had ds2 in a bassinet till he was nearly 7 months old. he fit so i didn't take him out and he would talk when he woke up and never tried to get out. I ended up p/t co sleeping with him where he was in his own bed for the first few hours of the night and then came in once he had his first wake up. the crib was in our room for a few months. i have seen other use a crib as a cosleeper ( which is what we are using with up coming baby) to just extend the bed and give everyone a bit more space.

I very easily could be a stage thing where is he in milestones? sitting up crawling and such or teeth can always change baby's habits. best of luck i hope you can fid something that works for you
