and the swarm is making noise ( dh is home today too lol)
I have been attempting to try some of the flylady's worksheets and a few others to cut down some costs

Usually two or three times a year we go on camping trips in addition to what we do with the homeschool group. This year I want to still have some fun and do stuff with our group
Granted there are free things with our group but it does cost gas to get there. There is nothing out here and my attempts have been in vain
We have had a growth spurt like you would not believe this last six months and now have more to pick and choose from than well you know
I want to figure out a way to still pinch my pennies and yet set aside x a month for us to do stuff with the group
I have a variety of ages so there would be variety of pick and choose
Teen gets to do one teen thing one teen and all thing
I figure if there is anything left over we can put it towards the next months stuff

But I am already figuring out where to squeeze other stuff can this be done or am I setting myself up for heartbreak
and i do a few things myself for it too getting closer into my season low cost if I can

HELP AM I NUTS?

Oh, I know how it is! We have our homeschool group and scouts that always have stuff going on. We have to pick and choose where to spend both our time and money.

Have you thought about having your kids do some "fundraising" to help support their activities? Maybe they could be in charge of recycling cans, newspaper or bottles? They could do some odd jobs like mow lawns or wash cars(or pets?!) for neighbors or friends? Yard sale? Start some seedlings to sell to local backyard gardeners?

Limiting activities is a good idea, esp if it helps keep costs down. Maybe you could consider hosting your own get togethers at your home so that you can still get the socialization and fun without the extra cost? You could camp in your backyard, or hold board game nights? Or maybe the kids could put on a backyard play together?

GOod luck on finding ways to put aside the money for your activities, I know it can be hard sometimes. Hope this helps!
