Alcaine 'numbing drops' at the eye doctor--Would this pose any risk at 6 weeks?

Hi all~

I had just found out I was preggo, I was about six weeks, and I went to the eye doctor.  Without even thinking about it I let them do the numbing eye drops.  They didn't dilate my eyes because of timing reasons, so thats not an issue.  But, I have been reading up on the Alcaine eye drops for numbing and I got a little nervous... Just reaching out for other mamas experiences with this, and wondering if I could have put my baby in any danger... They want me to come back to get dilated (Im nine weeks now) and I've decided not to. From what I've read these drops are more dangerous and remain in your system longer than the numbing drops.. am I making a huge deal out of nothing? ?

I was 7 or 8 months pregnant with DS when I had my eyes checked and again with this pregnancy (happen to need another check up) around 5 or 6 months.

I had asked my OB, this time my MW and the eye doctor and they all said it was perfectly safe. I think the eye doctor would have defiantly said something if it wasn't when I asked point blank because he would be the one at risk for being sued...

I'm sure you are fine, my understanding is that the drops are localized.
