No Longer Allowed to Edit?

When did this happen?  I have the ability to edit, but apparently the rules now state you can't edit your thread?  With all due respect, this is really getting silly.  I understand posts are well, one the most important parts of a messageboard, but if I feel like I shared too much or I don't want any attention to the topic, I am no longer allowed to edit it?  Did I sign something when I agreed to post here saying what I write belongs to MDC?  I would love to know more about this because it really makes me feel uncomfortable.

For the record, I edited a post that had a one-time use coupon that someone used.

No, editing is quite welcome and especially encouraged if you've overshared in a post and are concerned about privacy. We ask that members not mass delete their posts through editing because it can extremely disruptive to conversations. The rule about asking members not to delete their content like that is more than five years old, I believe.  

If you have a particular instance you would like to discuss, please PM me or email [e-mail] rather than talk about it in the public forum.
