Online schools for high school

My brother has some auditory issues and is not doing so well in school. Are there any online accredited schools (he's in OH if it matters) that have teacher supervision or whatnot for high school grades? With the divorce decree, it would have to be an accredited and recognizable school.

I picked Keystone High School for my children for high school. It is accredited and you can use it in any state. It is private so you pay for it yourself. But it is not too costly, less than $2000 per year. You can look to see if there are any state academies. K12 and Connections are the ones I hear about the most.

Oklahoma offers a public online high school. Ohio may do the same.

There is OHVA,ECOT,OCA,and BOSS from the many that I can recall on hand. I have read a lot of people switch their kids to BOSS for high school years after doing one of the other online schools. My friend has/had 2 boys in ECOT.

I plan on trying OCA first and then BOSS for high school for my kids.OCA has an excellent rating.Ohva I think is improvement rating according to the ODE site.

Oh there is OHDELA too.

Each school is a little different so if one does not work try another.BOSS has a few curriculums to pick from, and is less strict about having to be online for classes at certain times therfore more flexible than other online charter high schools.

I wouldn't recomend American School, that was the program I did for high school. I don't feel that it was challenging enough and some of the material was very outdated. Granted it is accredited and I do have a valid high school diploma, so for that purpose it would work.

Seton Home Study School -- accredited and very affordable.  It is a Catholic program.

I have heard that as well - that it is not challenging and very dry.  On the other hand, it's accredited, more affordable than many other accredited correspondence programs, and completely secular (for those who want that).  I have heard of students completing the entire 4 year program in 18 months.  Some people use it just to have the HS diploma, and then start community college at a younger than typical age.   So it sounds like it's not a very challenging or enriching program, but just one that gets the job done without a huge cost.  I've never had contact before with anyone who was actually the student - I appreciate that you have done this and are able to confirm what I've heard about it.

From their website:

The tuition for a full four-year high school program (18 units of credit), which includes textbooks and study guides, is only $1399.

That is the full 4-yr program.  One year is $589.  Having looked at some other correspondence schools, their price is really low.
