Organized, tidy, clean car?

What things do you do to keep your car clean and organized?

I just got a new (to me) car. The upholstery and carpet are all a handsome tan color...which is about to get mud tracked through it by my 3yo. My old car was black inside and that hid everything! I'm thinking of getting seat protectors and dark floormats (for the back seat, at least).

Also, any habit or organization tips welcome...I'd like a fresh start with this car!

I would definitely get some floor mats to protect the carpet.  As far as keeping everything organized, don't leave anything in the car after a drive.  If you take a cup or any generate trash during a drive, take it out when you leave the car. 

Also, the only toys that live in the car, fit in the pocket behind the seat, and that's it.

Definitely get floor mats.

We don't keep anything in the car that doesn't belong there.  I do have a trash that gets emptied regularly.  When my kids were younger, I had a bag to keep toys in but now they just take what they want with them and then take it back in the house when we get home.
