I posted a few days ago about night weaning and just wanted to post an update.  Last night was the first night and I'm happy to say that it went fairly well!!! :)  He woke at 11.  I snuggled close, patted his back and shhhhh him and he went back to sleep without a wimper!!!  He woke at 2 and more of the same!  whew!  I was feeling pretty good.  Then, he woke at 2:30 and was up for an hour and a half :(  I'm very happy that he did not really scream in protest.  Only a couple times during that hour and a half did he even really ask for it-  "ah, ah", pulling at my shirt :).  I just shhhh again and patted his back until my hand was completely asleep :).  I soooooo wanted to give in, but I didn't and he eventually fell asleep.  I hope that the night weaning continues to go well and that, hopefully, in time, he'll sleep better.  thanks for everyone's stories, advice, and word of encouragement!
