GroVia AIO2??

Sooooo I have been doing a ton of research lately as to what I should replace all of my "girly" FB small diapers with for this little boy we are having :) I initially thought well I'll just order some more Fuzzibunz in a gender neutral color, but then I realized, why not try something new! I love FB and they worked out great for us, so I was thinking something along the same lines. Has anyone had any luck with the GroVia's? I'm definitely an AIO girl, but the new style with the reusable "shell" sounds like a good idea for those newborn days of constant wet diapers. Also, I noticed that they have a choice of velcro/snaps. Seems like the velcro would give me a better fit for those days of being tiny newborn to about 6 months when he can fit into the FuzziBunz size mediums that I have. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks ladies!

P.S. what is the best way to sell gently used diaps? CL seems like it wouldn't fare very well with CD in my area.

I have really enjoyed my GroVia AI2 diapers.  I have used them on my newborn son from about 6 weeks when I got them, though I think they would have fit great even sooner.  Their velcro is awesome!  The soakers are really nice.  I do think that over time they get a little canvas like in feel though I don't mind - if you do you could add a stay dry topper.  I think they are really trim between the legs, though when he was super little he did have a bit of a bubble butt. I don't love them for nights so I use a prefold in the cover which I found works better for us.  My favorite had been the thirsies hemp duo.    I have some shell sets on-sale right now for 25% off + free shipping if you are interested.

As for used diapers, you can sell them on diaperswappers.

My other small baby suggestions are rumparooz, though they are pricey and I like my thirsties duo wraps.

Good luck!

We use the gro via aio's exclusively and have for about 4 months now. I cannot say enough good about them except that I do have to use something else at night time since she sleeps 12ish hours and pees a ton lol (almost 7mths old). They are insanely trim like to the point that I never worry about sizing up pants or onsies. The ai2's are said to be trim but nowhere near as trim as the aio.

If you have any specific questions you can pm.

I also have 2 of the ai2 sets and do not love them. With the disposable liner they are nice to have around as back up or for days being out but with the soaker is disgusting. You have to take the sopping wet poopy soaker and unsnap it barehanded and try not to get it anywhere and then snap a new one in. plus then you are barehanding a dripping wet poopy soaker into a bag. You don't have the convince of just rolling it into a tube and dropping it in.(like an all in one.Plus then instead of just setting cloth wipes onto the aio and rolling it into a tube sticking into bag you have to seprately manuver the wipes into the bag) grossedout.gif My biggest turn off was that urine would get into the cover and since its mesh you cant just wipe clean you have to get a new one. Some ppl just let them air dry and rotate covers all day (the covers dry wicked fast!) but then you are just using a diaper that had urine in it and airdried and that to me is sick.

Because the back of the pad is PUL I find that I can just fold it over and snap it out without getting my hands gross.  I have never had a problem. The PUL also helps the shell from getting wet.  If it does I just air dry it between changes.  I agree that I also LOVE the GroVia AIO.  It is SO nice!

The pul does help but I bf so we have lots of runny baby poopy that insists on trying to ooze out at every moment.(incliding from every diaper on her body, not something exclusive to the grovia ai2, but we use all other aios so its not a big deal to just toss the whole thing)

In my opinion a person deserves to not be put into something that has been urine soaked and not cleaned. I would never in a million years air dry a onsie that got urine on it and then put it back on dd. that is just a recipe for disaster. To each thier own I guess.

I breastfeed and we absolutely change the whole cover if he poops.  I guess we don't have the problem with the cover being saturated.  It can get a bit damp in places around the leg opening where the pad isn't for example.  I air dry it just as I would air dry a cover for a pre-fold between changes.  Here is a review I did.  I agree that if you don't want to change the whole thing with a poop or if you want to change it out if any pee gets on it then this may not be a good diaper for you.

Thanks so much! My main reason for wanting the AI2 was to be able to just change the soaker pad with each pee... not poop (I can't ever imagine it staying clean with messy breast milk poops!) But with a young baby who is peeing constantly, I thought it would be nice to just exchange the soaker pad. I'm thinking that I will order a few of the A!O and AI2's... The only thing that I did for my DD at night was use a doubled Fuzzibunz and sometimes a Knicker Knappy hemp for extra absorbency.... what would you ladies suggest for a good nighttime diaper? Or better yet, which doubler or extra inserts would you suggest? Thanks so much again!!

I just bought a bunch of GroVias yesterday thanks to a deal I couldn't pass up on Funky Tricycle.  I was really nervous about buying them without having seen them in person, but this thread makes me feel better!

Instead of starting a new thread, I'll just ask here.

I bought six of the Ai2s that come with the soaker.  My thought was that I could stick with six covers, and just buy a bunch of soakers to interchange when needed.  We're on a sketchy septic system so the only way I can do cloth this time is to cut down on laundry, so I was hoping that by avoiding Ai1's I could accomplish this.  That said, how many covers and soakers do you think I'll need?  I was going to buy six more soakers which would, in essense, give me 12 diapers to start with.  Not enough?

Anyone have any experience with their cloth wipes?  What about the disposable liners?  I thought they would be a really cool alternative to disposable diapers for those times when I want to go away for the weekend and don't have anywhere to do laundry while I'm gone.

And what about their stay dry boosters?  Would this help with overnight pee, you think?  Just trying to figure out what more I'll need to add to the stash before the baby comes. =)

You probably want between 20 & 24 soaker pads total to do laundry every 2-3 days.  We offer some quantity breaks on multiple backs of GroVia soakers.  I use prefolds (I love my thirsties) with a stay dry liner or a Flip Stay Dry pad at night.  I don't feel that even with the doublers they work well for my 7 month old.  I love the doublers for car rides and naps when he won't be sleeping so long.  I would not prep everything until you try some of them to make sure you really like them.  I love mine, but everyone has their own preference.

Cloth wipes are a must.  Disposable liners are great for when you are done with breastfeeding to make poop clean up easy.  Reusable liners are great for preventing stains. Disposable soakers/inserts are a great alternative to disposables.  I personally don't use them I just travel with my cloth.

Good Luck!

The disoposable inserts are fab. They work well and are super easy to clean up (no idea why they don't just do the soaker pads the same shape, they contain everything SO much better then the soakers.)...I have a cover with some disposable inserts in the car for the whoops times I forget a diaper or something.
