pot of soup left out over night; should it be tossed?

I made a double batch of chickpea soup yesterday using tetra pak organic chicken broth.  I left it to cool and then put it in containers but forgot to put the containers in the freezer.  It sat out for 8-10 hours.  My first reaction is to throw it out but I'm wondering if it might be ok to eat.  Any input?

Eh, I would just boil it for a bit, then cool and freeze. I don't use chicken stock, we are vegetarian, but I leave out veggie stock soup all the time, and then just boil it in the morning to make sure it's all good. Never had any problems.

I personally throw out anything I forget overnight that has meat or meat stock in it.  It's a bummer.  Veg I might be more flexible with.

I usually go with the same guidelines as Jayray, but in the case of Tetrapak chicken stock? I'd probably try a little bit and see what happens. That stuff has been so heated, I doubt many microbes survive.

Thanks.  I think I'm going to turf it.  It's been in the fridge a couple of days while I was trying to decide whether we should eat it or not.  I don't think I'll enjoy eating it.
