Ada is beautiful.

37 weeks today, and getting antsy to be done. seems like this pregnancy has been going on forever. but I still have some much stuff to get done. I at least got a lot done today.

Awwww, love the pic of Ada!!!! Congratulations on a healthy gorgeous baby!

I am totally climbing the walls... even though I wanted to wait until after my driving test tomorrow anyway the uncertainty is driving me nuts! I had a few hours of pretty strong contractions that lasted about a minute and were about 4- 5 min apart this morning, so of course I'm wondering again if it's actually happening... It's SOOOO annoying.

I totally sympathize with PrimeNumber's shock at having the baby so quick, DD2 was so much faster than DD1 (especially pushing: 10 min vs 2.5 hours) and when they put me on her chest I had this feeling like, "HOW did I get this baby already?" Totally weird.

We are all loving the van, it rides really smoothly and is really quiet, and the girls love to sit in different seats every time, usually far away from each other, so they are very quiet and not arguing like they usually do when they are 6 in away from each other in the civic. Makes for very comfortable car rides!

Look at that! You don't go on MDC all day and someone has a baby! Congratulations, Prime Number!!!! champagne.gif

When the rest of you start having babies post it in the main DDC area so we can shower you with proper congratulations and ask all kinds of personal questions about your birth!

Sorry for all the stop and start labor, ladies. I know that must be frustrating.

Ada is gorgeous!

So, let's talk mucus plugs, shall we? Seems like an oxymoron to me- mucus is... mucusy and plug is solid. So which is it? What are you looking for when trying to spot this elusive mucus plug??

Is that the weirdest question asked this month? :)

It's a chunk of mucous.  Ever had a sinus infection?  A really bad one?  Imagine blowing your nose into your underwear.  Maybe slightly more solid than the biggest infected booger you've ever blown.

At least, that's what mine looked like.  Most of pregnancy is beautiful and amazing and such, but a mucous plug is unbelievably gross, IMO.

HTH!

I bought a chin up bar for the birth.  I am so excited.  A friend is going to loan me her woven wrap and I'm going to put it over the chin up bar and under my arms (and across my back) so I can hang and pull during labor.  SO EXCITED.

Plus, it was only $20 and I realized last night that I could probably hang an outdoor infant swing from it and use it next winter so my girls can swing!  And since it just goes up in a doorway (with no nails) I don't have to make room for MORE furniture!  Best $20 I've ever spent (maybe).

mucous plug from my experince is undeniable i was large chunk of mucous with a bit of bloody show.

Now I have been lsoing moucus like it's going out of style... really kinda gross but i know something is going on with my body

with DD I never really lost my mucus plug. I just had a bit of extra discharge that was a slightly mucusy consistency.

Ada is lovely! Congratulations again! I love her name:)! Take it easy, mama.

Well, we really got a lot done so I'm feeling much better. It was awful having it hanging over my head but I just couldn't get it done before. I think I'm done for the night though. DH goes back to work tomorrow and then I have a MW appt. on Wed.. It's with my MW's partner and we'll do the GBS then. I was positive last time so we'll see what happens this time around. I swore I was going to eat a bunch of lacto-fermented food this time around but that didn't happen.

I gradually lost my mucus plug during the day and then labor started at 6 pm with DD. TMI alert: If I remember correctly, it started out greeny-yellowy

(normal for me-not from infection), then clear, then clear withprogressively more blood. I lost it throughout the day, every time I wiped after peeing. This past Friday and Saturday I lost 2 small globs at the end of the day but nothing since then. Those were days when I felt really bad though, so I think that has to have something to do with it.

So excited for the next babies. I can't totally wrap my head around our first DDC baby though.

Congrats Primenumber - what a lovely baby!

Sounds like a few more of you are getting close - I hope you can all manage to get enough rest before moving on from the prodomal stuff (sounds pretty miserable and annoying to deal with by the way).

A plug with blood is what you wanna see moreso than just yellow/green. Those will be lost and replaced over and over until labor. But blood is usually a good sign you have dilation going on as well. BUT you can also never see it and obviously give birth. lol

I never saw my plug with either of my girls, I wonder if that is because it wooshed out when my water broke?  This time around I have been losing it in pieces, but I haven't gotten a huge piece or any blood, so I know it isn't time yet.  My dh and I decided to dtd since I'm full term and it is safe now.  It was really awkward.  And didn't appear to start anything going.  But worth a shot and it was nice to be able to be close to him again.

with dd1 my mucus plug came out throughout labor with bloody show as I wiped. With dd2 it came out all once in the toilet, that's when ctx started for me and continued until I had a baby...

Something is going on with me today. Could be more prodromal stuff, maybe not. Lots of cramps, contractions and diarrhea. I did dtd with my hubby last night, plus I just started taking evening primrose oil. But this isn’t all related to that, is it? If so, I’m never taking epo again, because let me tell you, I’m not feeling great right now!

you took the EPO orally or vaginally? How much did you take?

Cramps, ctx, and diarrhea sounds a whole lot like early labor...If you have a baby later today or early tomorrow I guess you'll know for sure that it's not related. winky.gif

EPO I took 2 orally and 2 vaginally the past two days.

I never saw a mucus plug with DD 1. This time I've had the greenish yellow snot looking stuff a few times, but not much and no blood.

Lousli- DH and I decided on the same last night. It was a bit funny with some giggling in the beginning, but as you said, it was good to be close again. I'd love it if it would actually get something started!

I had major energy yesterday and got the living room (birth room) really clean. I had bowel issues Sunday and was sure labor was on the way but yesterday all I felt was the odd energy burst. I went to the chiro today to get my hips aligned. They were so bad since Saturday, I could hardly walk. I'm still sore but things are moving better. I was thinking it would be awful to go into labor like that since I was already having to do hot water showers on my lower back and hips without any contractions! Since I went I've been crampy though. Maybe an alignment can start labor?

I'm swinging broadly between feeling like I have another month and I'm in no hurry at all and feeling like I'm crampy and about to explode and that it's going to happen at any moment.  I'm getting REALLY excited to meet the new babe!  I'm also super excited to be out of work for 10-12 weeks.  orngtongue.gif

Besides that, not much to report.  I have a pretty serious laundry situation and I REEEEEALLY need to do some cleaning (now that our garage and basement are so clean and pretty).  I'm still not allowed to see the baby room.  Jason's been watching way too much "Extreme Home Makeover" and he really wants to have a big, dramatic "reveal".  I hope he finishes Thursday (his next day off), so I can see it.  If not, I'll have to wait until Saturday (at least).  It would just be nice to have everything put in the proper place.

We're going to 2 concerts this weekend (same band, 2 shows).  It's at a club and there will be lots of dancing.  That should be interesting.......    LOL!!!

why do I always have to have contractions that start when I go to bed and continue until it's time to get up? haven't had a decent nights sleep in four days, and I'm starting to get really pissy because of it. at least I know they're doing some work. baby is is a better position and seems to have engaged, and I'm more dilated. I'm feeling like this boy is going to come soon.

Everything that was happening this morning has stopped. Grrr. I'm just extra tired and frustrated now and with a slightly sore belly.  I've read that the cleaning out thing can happen a couple days before labor, so maybe I'll be lucky and it will be soon?  I'm not loving this though, I'll tell you that.
