DS, 18 mos, is a frequent night nurser. He basically likes to be latched on all night long and I am exhausted to say the least. I've tried to night wean him with my husband rocking him and rubbing his back at night with little success. So I decided to go away for the weekend on my home in hopes that he would just wean (I had somewhere that I had to go anyway and decided to extend the trip from one night to two to see if what would happen). I haven't nursed him for almost 5 days now, but my breasts are super sore and he is not sleeping any better. He still wakes a lot and my dh has just been rocking him and rubbing his back. Should I try to nurse him some during the day? I feel like maybe he's not ready since he's not sleeping better and since my breasts are so tender? Or will he start to sleep better if I give it a bit more time? I nursed my older one for 2.5 years and the transition was very smooth on both ends. I wouldn't mind nursing DS in the day in general, I just can't do all night anymore! Any thoughts?
