Quick charting question

I'm reading TCOYF, and it's very enlightening, but I have one question. In the book she says not to use a digital thermometer that measures to within 1/100th of a degree because it is "unnecessary and confusing" but I already have a thermometer that measures to 1/100th of a degree and I'm not going to buy another one. I don't think she address how to chart your temp using this type of thermometer. So, for example, my temp today was 96.99. My first instinct was to mark it as 97, but maybe I should just ignore the last number and mark it as 96.9? Thoughts?

You can chart equally well by rounding or shaving.  Just decide one and do it.  Either one will also drive you crazy when .02 degrees more would have gotten you the temperature rise you were looking for.  I've mostly seen it recommended to just shave off the last number.  I prefer to round for my own sanity.  Seeing 97.99 when 98.0 would give us a free day is a lot harder handle for me than seeing 97.94 and admitting that I need to round down to 97.9.
