No More Jennifer Nelson! - Looking for family doctor/nurse practitioner/NP/pediatrician...

So, we finally found a nurse practitioner that we really liked here in Dover (Jennifer Nelson).  Then today, I called the office and she's going on "extended medical leave for 6 months, maybe a year", and it was suggested that "we find another primary care physician."

Yikes!

So, we need someone for the whole family.  WE have selectively vaxed in the past. (I have a 4 1/2 year old).  Looking for someone who is open to alternate ideas, but "mainstream" enough to handle the DH's needs (and prescription).

Where do I start?!?!

We have a pediatrician we are pretty happy with if you want to go that route - Coastal Pediatrics in Portsmouth, no problems with our vaccination choices there at all - still pretty mainstream, but they seem really open-minded there with learning about the reasoning behind our non-mainstream choices, and they talk to you not down to you like some other places I've been. As for a family practice, have been looking myself and am trying a new one later this month, an osteopath in Exeter - if they are any good/worth the drive I'll let you know! Sorry, hope someone else has some more specific recommendations, but that's a start if nothing else comes up.

Hey Mary!! Yikes, it's been a while, I blinked and 6mths went by!  Anyways my boys are still going to Kittery Family Practice.  We see Dr. Braden and so far he is fantastic!  Very hands off, supportive of our Sears schedule and thrilled that we are drinking raw milk.  One of these days we'll get together!!  We might be having a sledding party soon, if so I'll let you know!

Wow, it has been a while!!  Don't know how that happened.  Do let me know if you sled...we'll be there!

I think we may try Whole Life Health in Newington.  I've heard ok things about them, and it will be nice for the whole family to go there.  Thanks for the recommendation though...we may need a backup if things don't "feel" right.
